A graveyard for ships on the banks of the Severn Estuary.

Trellech, near Monmouth

A visit to the village of Trellech, including excavations of the mediaeval town, the holy well and standing stones.

Northleach Church

Wool in the Cotswolds

A tour of archaeological sites linked to the medieval wool trade, including Northleach and Farmington.

Arthur's Cave

King Arthur's Cave and other prehistoric sites, lower Wye Valley

Visited in July, 2008

Clee Hill

A visit to Titterstone Quarry, the summit of Clee Hill and Nordy Bank Iron Age Hill Fort, together with nearby Heath Chapel and the site of a mediaeval village.

Upton-upon-Severn

A walk round Upton-upon-Severn with the focus on the history of the town since the English Civil War.

Kilpeck Church and Abbey Dore

A visit to a small 12th Century village church boasting the best display of Herefordshire School sculpture in the UK, followed by a tour of a large village church which used to be a Cistercian Abbey.

Knighton and Offa's Dyke

A tour round the mediaeval town of Knighton to see the remnants of two castles, followed by a walk along a section of Offa's Dyke.

Wroxeter Roman City

A Roman garrison town, at the time fourth largest in Britain. Visible remains today include foundations of the city baths and the market hall.

Blackfriars Priory, Gloucester

The most complete 13th Century Dominican priory in the country.

Visited in August, 2005.

Kempsey riverside and Kempsey Common, Worcestershire

Iron Age ramparts by the River Severn and the sites of Bronze Age barrows on Kempsey Common.

kempley church

St Mary's church, Kempley, Gloucestershire

This church dates from the 12th century and has a fine display of frescoes.

Garway church, Herefordshire

A Herefordshire Knights Templar church with columnbarium.
